Hi! I'm Katie, a self-taught fibre artist from Derbyshire. I love creating unique treescapes within hoops using a combination of hand-weaving and soft sculpture techniques. I create beautifully textured pieces that are nostalgic and relaxing.
I was initially inspired by my Grandfather’s tapestry work and began to experiment after a mental health breakdown in 2019. Focussing my mind and hands to create soothing scenes helped massively in my recovery and I’ve evolved my style ever since. It is these elements of my experiences and the need for nature that I translate using a range of fibres to depict the beautiful English woodlands and trees.
