EU Shipping Update
Hello! This is information for customers in the EU and Northern Ireland.
You might have seen on the news recently that the EU has introduced new product safety legislation called The General Product Safety Regulation (GPSR). It sets safety standards for consumer products and came into effect on December 13, 2024.
The major part of this new legislation means businesses now need to have an 'Authorised Representative' within the EU. Many small businesses such as mine cannot afford to pay someone to be our representative in the EU so unfortunately we can no longer take orders from countries within the EU. For the purposes of GPSR, this includes Northern Ireland due to their open trading agreement since Brexit.
Part of the reason for creating my website is that Etsy has made it very difficult to turn off shipping to the EU and to separate Northern Ireland from the UK. Until this is resolved, I have had to set the postage costs for EU countries at £100 to hopefully bring the matter to your attention. Orders placed to Northern Ireland will unfortunately have to be cancelled.
Hopefully in the future something will be done to make the EU market more accessible to small businesses such as mine and I can offer my work to you lovely people once again!
